The Wehrmacht
Germany's army was well funded and was nearly unstoppable. The Wehrmacht had fifty-one active divisions of infantry, six panzer brigades, four motorized divisions, and fifty-one reserve infantry divisions. The average panzer division had three hundred-ten tanks and a total of five hundred heavily armed tanks. The Wehrmacht had 730,000 active troops and 1.1 million in reserve. Hitler's vast army was used very strategically in the Invasion. It was made up of two main armies, the army group of the north and the army group of the south. The Wehrmacht defeated Poland's army with the aid of the Soviet Union and took over the country in less than 30 days.
